What I've been up to....

I feel I've been rather neglecting this blog as I've been quite busy and also quite tired. I have been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and some related sleep disorders so I'm often very weary and don't always have enough energy to do everything I would like...

Things I am making:

-Red stitch embroidery/applique for Kootoyoo's red stitch quilt
-Embroidered gloves for a new stockist in London
-special order map coasters
-more comic wallets and bits and pieces for old and new stockists
-upcrafted ceramic crockery (stay tuned for pics!)


Things I have been doing:

-decluttering the house ( a massive task! We are holding a stall at CERES market in a couple of weeks and will be selling loads of books, cd's (our whole collecting is being digitised), fabric, vintage homewares and other bits and pieces. Whatever we don't sell will be donated to charity.

-organising our one year wedding anniversary celebration. We'll be staying overnight at the Melbourne Zoo as part of Roar N Snore! So excited.

-pet sitting a rather cheeky persian cat called Bella

-buying art (must remember pics!)

-organising an interview with Frankie Magazine about our Green Renters site

-learning German

-hypnotherapy

-exercising when I can and eating healthy

-working of course!

My Creative Space...

I'm going to Port Fairy with my sexy husband for the long weekend. I plan to do lots of embroidery, including more bike gloves for the Melbourne Social Forum next weeked at CERES. I'll also be walking on the beach, reading and all those kinds of things. Oh, and tidying my embroidery box...

The 'In the Hot-House' festival combines the celebration of music, art, craft, dance, films and food with an exploration of the environmental and social challenges that exist in our own backyards and around the world. Learn how to take action on climate change as some of the best of Melbourne's environmental and community groups show you 'What you can do' and present alternatives perspectives on the crises facing us today.

The festival program continues at the picturesque and inspiring CERES Environmental Park. The program is busting at the seams and consists of art, music, workshops, food, drink, films, children's entertainment and much more including the premiere performance collaborative performance project with two Moreland based schools, Voices of our Future.
Festival Highlights Include:

Music from The Conch, Orkeztra Glasso Bashalde, Radiant City and more.

Collaborative art projects across the site including Photography, Sculpture and Found Art with contributions from the 'Outsiders Guide', Sudeep, Ero, Peter Hutchinson and more coming
'Voices of our Future' schools drama performance

Children’s Clown, face painting and kids workshops

Food and drink from local and sustainable companies, including the infamous Good Brew beer bike

Workshops on a wide variety of subjects from environmental issues, open source technology, radical craft, alternative thought, green renting, Slow living and activism.

Chris and I are running a "Green Renters" workshop and i am involved in a huge craft installation teaching people to embroider! Stayed tuned for more details.

Sundays are lovely!

My partner and I spent sunday morning at CERES environment park in Brunswick. We love it to bits and go there as often as we can. I took a few shots:
